The WACCI programme is four years: one year of academic study at the University of Ghana and three years of field research. To be awarded a PhD degree in Plant Breeding, students must pass all core courses and a comprehensive examination at the end of the first year. In addition, students must also pass both the thesis research and oral examinations at the end of the fourth year. Courses offered are below
