In 2012, the MSc. Plant Breeding programme was selected as one of the two best graduate programmes in Africa by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and the prize given by HE Koffi Annan, the former United Nations Secretary General. The PhD programme was designated in 2012 as the East African Community Centre of excellence for training crop scientists and Biotechnologists. It has already trained 26 PhD students from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and over the last four cohorts. Read More
